One of the things I do to remember my daughter Jennifer after she died at the holidays is to place a new christmas ornamant one the tree each year. She loved frogs so my tree has a few of them on it. Laughing I also buy something she liked as a child and donate it to places like the salvation army
I would love to hear what you do as it would be so much help to people who have lost loved ones. The holidays seem to be such a hard time of year when we have lost someone we love very much
have a beautiful day everyon filled with smiles and happiness

Dear Carrie,

That is a wonderful idea to buy something that Jenifer liked to donate as a gift. I may have to borrow that one!
Last year was way too hard for me Crying or Very sad (being the first one), but I tried to make it a happy season for my daughter because I felt that would honor Mikey~he really loved her and was very proud of her. My mom found an organization that does "angel gifts" specifically for children with parents in prison. I thought that was not only a wonderful organization Smile but would also help in a very personal way for my mom, so I think I'll check that out this year.
I've also given Recovery Bibles to people that need them in his Memory.

Hello Beautfiul Lady,

What a wonderful Idea angel gifts are. Could you maybe post a address or phone number for this place in case others want to use them this year?
Our loved ones on the other side love it so much when we are happy at the holidays. Many times they will even show up in thepictures we take.
They are closer to us during the holiday nd during special occasions and will often send us a gift through someone else.
Mikey siad he loves you and to watch your four legged baby around the tree this year.
Talking about animails . Do any of you do anything special at the holidays in your beloved Pets memory?

Love & Light
Carrie

On holidays I always light candles and say special prayers for my loved ones on the other side. I like to have items around me that are special symbols of them. For instance, my parents come to me with cardinals, a symbol that our family associates with them because of their January birthdays and anniversary, their love of birds, and their especially close relationship while on this side. So, I like to surround myself with cardinals. This year, I chose a beautiful UNICEF cardinal Christmas card to send out to friends and family. As soon as they open it they will understand the meaning, and it will bring memories of my parents closer to them.
Carrie, thank you for your very special gift, and for the wonderful messages you have brought to me from my loved ones in the past. You are sharing the best gift of all with others... Wishing peace and love to all this holiday season....

Hello Florida Girl,

Thank you so much for sharing this. Did you know that the carndinal Is the spiritual bird of Hope?
When a loved one on the other side sends a cardinal as a sign they are sending love and hope. Very Happy .
Hmmm I have one baby deer out side my widow right now wanting to tell you Hello .
have a wonderful day filled with happiness.
love Carrie

Thank you Carrie! Funny you should say that about the deer saying hello. They probably know I have been thinking about them every day because it is deer hunting season, and I am so distressed by it. I love the deer.

My husband and I started to bake a meat pie recipe that my father in law used to make and give out to all of our family and friends at Chritmas time. My father in law passed away last year the day after Thanksgiving, so we decided to carry on his special tradition, of baking all the meat pies for everyone. I know he would be proud and glad that we continued this special tradition in his name , for everyone. They all looked forward to his meat pies at Chritmas time. So that is one of the ways my husband and I keep my father in law's memory alive. ( But you are still the best meat pie maker if you ask me Leo!) but we try Wink

Love,

Cheryl

When I was growing up, my grandpa and grandma would allow each of us grandchildren to pick an ornament from their tree every year. Even after my grandfather left this earth, my grandmother kept the tradition. Through my early adult years, she would purchase new ornaments and let us grand children and now my kids, her great grand children choose one. During her last couple of years with us when she was ill and couldn't put up a tree, she would pass out the ornaments. Each year I decorate my own tree with these ornaments. When I place each one, I slip back in time and can remember the exact moment I took the ornament off of my grand parents tree. When grandpa had to reach to the top for that certain one I had my eye on. When I traded with a cousin who wanted the one I had picked out. I remember the love in their home and in our family and how they made the holidays so warm and special. With each ornament there is a memory and as I place each one I thank them. My kids dont understand why I cry every year while decorating the tree. At some point they will understand. And when they have their kids I will pass on the tradition and let my grand children pick an ornament every year.
